Agri Machinery distribution – Southouse Zambia

In May 2017 we merged Nedtex Engineering Limited into Southouse Zambia Limited.  Nedtex has been established in Mkushi since 2010 and specialises in the design and fabrication of agricultural equipment and parts and the service and repair of farm machinery.  We think that this merger is extremely complimentary to the sprayer and cultivation sales business; additionally the senior partners of Nedtex, Phillipus Bezedenhout and Daniel Van Rensburg have many years of experience in the field and will assume full day to day control.

Conditions in the agri machinery sector were tough throughout 2017 and remain so despite stronger crop prices in April May 2018.  Although better than 2016/7 the rainfall over the 17/18 summer was very patchy and most farmers will still not be able to grow a full winter crop with many still sowing under 40%   CRMG introduced new engineering machinery with CNC design capability at the end of September 2017 and this has already proved its value.  The repair and maintenance business has seen month on month growth.

Southouse Zambia is once again contract spraying and proposes to send two new trainees to the UK for advanced operation and support/maintenance training.
